Evolutionary Selection or Divine Process?
Is the Bible real
and factual or just a fairy tale? Are some Christians just
interpreting what they want to see into the Scriptures as it pertains to
reality? Many Atheists seem to think
Scripture is "Mythology" / a "Fairy Tale" / "Fantasy." I
challenge you to read the following (takes 2 minutes)...if you've got the time….
and I can prove it to you that it is either very factual or it was just ‘lucky’
/ evolutionary selection. In the end,
you’ll say, “My God and my all” or you’ll say, “They got lucky.”
Let’s look at the
Bible from a historical perspective and then see where that takes us. Keep
this in mind, we are examining the text of the Bible as written 2000 to 4000
years ago. Some will argue that Abraham never existed, but I'm here to explain
the "Text" as it pertains to World History (btw, most Historians
believe Abraham existed). Now, I’m going to put some Biblical quotes up,
don’t be turned off….but follow me here:
Back in 2000 B.C.,
Abraham is told by God that from his future family genealogy, a great “World
Wide Blessing” will be accomplished.
- Gen. 12:3 “I will bless those who bless
you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be
blessed through you."
So the Great Prediction has been made…..from
Abraham’s family lineage, EVENTUALLY the WHOLE World will be blessed (Gen
22:18) through some man or group.
Fast forward 2000
years. Jesus claims that he is the one who would bring about the “World Wide
Blessing” (through the Church / Holy Spirit) predicted by Abraham in
Genesis 12 / Genesis 22. Jesus tells his disciples to go out into the Whole
World and Baptize (Bless) all Nations (Matthew 28:19-20). After Pentecost, St.
Peter proclaims in Acts 3:22-26 that Jesus is the one that brings in the “World
Wide Blessing” predicted by Abraham.
- Acts 3:25-26 "You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God gave to your fathers, saying to Abraham, 'And in your posterity shall all the families of the earth be blessed.' God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you in turning every one of you from your wickedness."
Then, St. Paul
backs this up:
- Galatians 3:7 "So you
see that it is men of faith who are the sons of Abraham. And the scripture,
foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel
beforehand to Abraham, saying, 'In you shall all the nations be blessed.'”
St. Paul is telling
us that the prediction of Gen 12 is being fulfilled through Jesus Christ to the
Whole World....to the Gentiles and the Jews.
When the Jews wrote
Genesis, they were “no-one’s” on the world scene and they were slaves in
Babylon (550 B.C.) when Genesis was written in its current form……yet these
slaves were still predicting that their people would bring about a Major
Movement that would institute a World Wide Blessing for all people - in all
Nations. It seems like a pretty arrogant prediction considering they had no influence and were slaves in a foreign land.
When the Christians wrote the New Testament (40 A.D. to 90 A.D.), they
were no-one’s on the world scene. Both Jews and Christians were despised by the
World in the 1st Century. The Christian's were pursued with hatred ….arrested....beat
up….persecuted… jailed.....enslaved....and murdered. For 300 years, Christians were on the run and
worshiping underground because Emperor Nero outlawed their Religion circa 64 A.D.. It wasn’t
until the 4th Century that Christianity finally took off like wild fire
all over the known World after the Edict of Milan in 313 by Emperor Constantine.
Eventually,
Christianity spread to every part of the Earth and is now performing
"Blessings" all over the World for 2 Billion people ……in just about every
Nation around the Globe (from East to West). Priests and Preachers give their
“Blessings” to all the Nations. A Priest
at a Catholic Mass / Orthodox Mass says: “I BLESS you in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” / they sprinkle blessed Holy
Water on the laity. A Preacher says during worship services: "God
Bless you in the name of Jesus Christ."
So, we have one of
two conclusions here as it pertains to the Bible through Historical
FACT......the Historical Fact being that Abraham predicted a World Wide
Blessing and now this Blessing is being done all over the World Today through
one of his descendants name (Jesus Christ):
Conclusion #1) The
Christian’s got lucky by some evolutionary process of Natural Selection…they
won the day. Even though the Jews predicted this International Blessing in all Nations while in slavery - and - Jesus / Apostles made an educated guess that their Religion would fulfill this World Wide Blessing while they were insignificant "nobody's" on the run / underground and then it came true.... it was just dumb luck.
Conclusion #2)
Christianity is Divinely Inspired and the predictions of Genesis 12, Acts 3, and
Galatians 3 are true.
Take your pick…I’m going with the latter.

Epilogue:
There are 2.2 Billion Christians on the planet out of 7.2 Billion people. Some may think this is a failure. First off, Jesus never said He would convert everyone; Second, the prediction was to "Baptize" and "Bless" all Nations of the Earth. In just about every town in the Western Hemisphere, there is a Church. Also, in Europe there is a Church in about every town. Africa is growing leaps and bounds right now with churches. Finally, Southeast Asia is exploding with churches, especially China. China is predicted to have more Christians than any other Nation on Earth by 2050 (more than Brazil).
One last thought: In the past 500 years of Human History, no other Moral or Theological thought has influenced the whole World like Christianity. With the rise of the Printing Press, World Travel, and the Electronic age coming out of Europe and North America (And having World Superpower's like Britain before WW2 and the United States after WW2 influencing the World helped a lot to promote Christian thought) - Christianity has been a major force on the rest of the World. Think of the alternative: What if Stalin and Mao would have defeated the Christian West during the Cold War? What would be the dominant "thought" around the World right now? Darwinist Evolutionary / Atheistic "Dog-Eat-Dog" survival of the fittest philosophy. Let us not forget that in Communist China during the 20th Century, Mao Zedong murdered 70 Million of his own people; In the Communist USSR, Stalin murdered 15 million Ukrainians by starving them to death; and 15 million others were killed under Communism in Cuba, Laos, Vietnam, Nicaragua, South America, Africa, and etc.
